Only certain trucks can use a plastic bed liner. That’s because only trucks that are newer or at least are trucks that were made in large volumes will have a liner that is made for that truck. It’s quite clear why that is. Those one piece liners are made with big molds and some quite expensive tooling that will wear out at some point. Since you can figure that most trucks will get liners when they are fairly new, the demand just drops off in volume for liners as they get older. And as all that tooling is expensive to build and maintain, you can maybe see why only the more popular and more numerous trucks will have an available plastic liner model. On the other hand at least one reason why spray in liners are popular is just the fact that any truck can be coated with bed liner paint. That really opens up the potential market for liners that will fit any truck.
